Joining the professional rodeo in 1984, Marvin Garrett is endeared as one of the greatest legends of his event. Garrett's fire to be the best has earned him four World Champion titles in Bareback Riding. Spanning his career over more than 20 years, it is no wonder that Garrett was inducted into the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame in 1998. As an ultimate competitor, Garrett is a two-time winner of the NFR Aggregate title in Bareback Riding. A major highlight of his career was representing the United States as a member of the 1988 U.S. Rodeo Team in the Calgary Olympics.
Despite his chosen status of semi-retired, Garrett still dedicates his life to the sport of rodeo. When he is not competing at a rodeo, Garrett spends time raising bucking horses, and continues to work on the Marvin Garrett Roughstock Series. Marvin also produces high school rodeos and helps the youth in his area learn how to compete in the sport. The rodeo life is a family affair, as his son Weston also rides bareback horses and his daughters; Kassi and Kaylee have competed in high school rodeos. Although Garrett's wife, Lisa, is not a rodeo participant herself, she is busy working with Marvin on the Marvin Garrett Roughstock Series.
